Brady Bogart

Born may 13 1998 in a small southwestern town in Missouri. My father joined the Navy when I was one year, so I became a Navy Brat. We were stationed up and down the East Coast and even got to move to Japan for a bit. I have such great love for just about everything SciFi and Dinoaaurs. I have a penchant for picking up hobbies. I’ve dabbled in jewlry, wood work, and forging. When I was a middle schooler I started a different story, tragically our home was broken into and my backpack that story was in was used to pack out our stuff. That hit hard and I quit trying.

I started this book several years later while bored at work (sorry HomeDepot) I did use it to create a short story for school. My mom would encourage me to expand and do a full book. I put it on the back burner, but within the past year found that it needed to be finished.

"A Raw and Emotionally Charged Space Opera" Adventures on the SS Fornax is not your typical space adventure—it’s a deep, emotionally resonant story about family, identity, loss, and redemption. Brady Bogart introduces us to Danial, a teen protagonist with a mysterious power and a traumatic past, who must not only survive interstellar threats but come to terms with the destruction his powers have wrought. The relationship between Danial and John feels authentic and grounded, and their banter provides much-needed levity amid intense battles and tragic revelations. The world-building is ambitious, with diverse alien species, ionized galaxies, and political intrigue. What stood out most to me was the emotional honesty—especially the grief Danial carries over Resqua’s death. It’s raw, unfiltered, and memorable.

"Imagine Star Wars, but with Deeper Family Trauma and Grit" This manuscript caught me off guard—in a good way. On the surface, it’s a fast-paced intergalactic thrill ride with electric sword fights, planetary stations, and mysterious villains. But at its core, it's a character-driven tale about a boy whose clone devastated Earth, and who now carries both guilt and power in equal measure. The author does a great job of keeping readers engaged with dynamic dialogue and action sequences while also layering in heavy themes like grief, identity, and atonement. Some parts could benefit from editing or pacing adjustments, but the story's heart is undeniable. Danial's internal battles are just as compelling as his external ones. Sci-fi lovers, especially teens, will find a lot to enjoy here.

"Visually Vivid, Deeply Personal, and Surprisingly Philosophical" Brady Bogart’s Adventures on the SS Fornax is the kind of manuscript that makes you forget you’re reading a draft. It reads like an animated sci-fi series waiting to happen. The visuals are cinematic—from glowing hilt-blades and alien color-coded emotions to ion storms and crumbling space stations. But beyond the spectacle, it’s the introspective moments that linger. Danial is more than a hero—he’s a broken boy trying to fix a broken galaxy. Themes of responsibility, moral ambiguity, and redemption are subtly woven throughout. What struck me most was the emotional complexity of the side characters—Resqua’s tragic fate, John’s loyalty, and even the junkers’ cautious mistrust—all make this story feel lived-in and real. Highly recommend for readers who crave depth with their action.
